DES MOINES – Nationally-syndicated Catholic talk show host, evangelist and author, Teresa Tomeo, will serve as the keynote speaker at the Iowans for LIFE (IFL) fourth annual fundraising dinner, scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 16, at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 4800 Merle Hay Road.

The Iowa events team Tomeo, with her 30-plus years of professional journalism with Iowans for LIFE, Iowa’s first statewide pro-life organization with more than 40 years of consistently and compassionately defending human life.

Iowa Senator David Johnson (R-Ocheyedan), a longtime supporter of Iowans for LIFE and member of St. Mary Church in Ashton, will also speak at the evening event. The first-ever LIFE (Life Is for Everyone) Award will be presented to an individual involved in pro-life education and/or advocacy consistent with IFL’s mission.

Earlier in the day, Tomeo will hold a book signing at Divine Treasures Catholic Book and Gift Source, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. While in Des Moines, she will live broadcast her own radio programs.

Tomeo’s weekday morning program on EWTN Radio Network, Catholic Connection, is heard on 200+ stations and also carried on Sirius Satellite Radio. The show airs 8 a.m. weekdays on Iowa Catholic Radio.

Tomeo also is a newspaper columnist for Our Sunday Visitor and The Catholic Globe and co-hosts EWTN Television Network’s The Catholic View for Women.
